She's not even old enough to join a tee-ball team, yet a little girl from South Jersey has been the hot topic of conversation among Major League Baseball fans since an incident Wednesday night at the Phillies' ballpark in South Philadelphia.
Steve Monforto of Laurel Springs, NJ said he had been waiting all his life to catch a home run ball or a foul ball at a Phillies' game. So when Jayson Werth wasted one toward his family's seats in the 300 level, he tells our sister station WIP, he was ready:
"As soon as the ball came, my reaction was, 'Steve, don't drop this. You're going to have 44,000 people booing.' I got my hands on it, high-fived, and I gave it to my daughter."
