Lawmakers taking part in state budget negotiations say they may be close to striking a deal.
Legislative leaders announced a bi-partisan budget agreement last Friday. As recently as Monday, Governor Rendell trashed the deal, saying it was based on overly-optimistic revenue projections and threatened a deal. But he said he would give lawmakers a chance to prove otherwise and it appears that three days of talks since then may be changing the Governor’s mind.
Republican Jake Corman emerged from a bargaining session shortly before 6 pm Wednesday.:
