Thousands of people are expected at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday morning to help raise money for Autism Speaks, the nation’s leading Autism advocacy organization.
Autism is the fastest growing serious developmental disability in the country affecting millions of kids and it’s more prevalent in boys. The annual walk is designed to raise money to help raise awareness and find a cure.
Mina Dever of Philadelphia has three children, two boys and a girl, and both boys have Autism. She got involved with the walk after her oldest son, now seven, was diagnosed just before he turned three:
