Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter was on his way to Harrisburg on Thursday morning, planning to implore state lawmakers once again to pass the measures that will help the city balance its budget and avoid laying off 3,000 city employees.
Just before departing from City Hall, Nutter said he remains steadfast in his belief that state lawmakers will come through with the relief measures the city needs:
"The citizens and our public servants have done enough, and enough is enough, and so I am hopeful that today action will be taken and that we can bring an end to this particular chapter. We should no longer be talking about budgets -- we should be talking about building a bright future for our city."
