On the 80th day of Pennsylvania’s budget standoff, legislative leaders and Governor Rendell on Friday night finally announced an agreement to break the logjam.
Governor Rendell says the budget deal, which would be $400 million less than last year’s budget, involves no broad-based tax hikes and minimal increases to other taxes:
“There are some, like the cigarette tax that you know about, but the tax increases were kept to a minimum.”
