The University of Pennsylvania Museum is holding a symposium this Saturday on its new discoveries at an archaeological dig in southern Egypt.
The University of Pennsylvania has had an archaeological site at Abydos in southern Egypt for more than 40 years, but its discoveries have been overshadowed by more well-known dig sites like Giza.
David O'Connor, curator emeritus, just wrote a book on Abydos and at a symposium on Saturday, he'll reveal the more interesting discoveries -- like a fleet of boats buried in the sand.
