Primary Day in Pennsylvania -- Whose Campaigns Are Over?

Pennsylvania voters are deciding whether to replace Republican-turned-Democrat Arlen Specter in the US Senate and settle contested Democratic and Republican nominations for governor.
Nomination fights in dozens of state legislative and congressional districts also are on the ballot.
Polls close at 8pm. Philadelphia schools opened two hours late on Tuesday.
The Democratic race for US Senate is the marquee race in today’s Pennsylvania primary. KYW's Mark Abrams caught up with Specter and his challenger, US Rep. Joe Sestak, as they cast their ballots.
Specter (right), accompanied by his wife, Joan, entered the Cambridge Building in Philadelphia's East Falls neighborhood to cast an important ballot. The longtime Republican, who switched parties to run for re-election, says he’s optimistic he’ll survive the Democratic primary:
“Listen, I’ve gotten used to playing the cards I’m dealt. I think I’m going to do okay, notwithstanding the weather.”
