Philadelphia Throws a Party for Its Centenarians

A luncheon was held this afternoon to celebrate some very special Philadelphians -- all of whom were born in 1910 or earlier.
They were honored at the city's 10th annual Centenarian Luncheon.
City representative Melanie Johnson noted that the oldest person in attendance, at age 110, was Anna Henderson (
"Every time we ask what's the secret of a long life, they just tell us they all just enjoy. They're all very joyful!"
Albert Mariani (right) attended with his girlfriend, who's a sprightly 85:
(Mariani:) "July the 2nd, 1910, I was born -- before you, I think."
