New Family Court Construction Moves Forward, With a Yellow Light
by KYW's Mike DeNardo
Governor Rendell is releasing money to build a new Philadelphia Family Court building. And he says the state is also looking into a potential conflict of interest between a state consultant who co-owned development rights to the site that was selected.
The state is releasing $200 million to build a new home for Family Court at 15th and Arch Streets (above).
An Inquirer story on Friday revealed that the developer hired by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to find the site, Jeffrey Rotwitt, also co-owns development rights for 15th and Arch with developer Donald Pulver.
Rotwitt stands to get $4 million from the court, and another half-million for the development fees.
