Judge Rules That Lower Merion School Plan Considered Race of Students

The parents of nine Lower Merion students who claimed their constitutational rights were violated by a school redistricting plan have won part of their legal battle.
US Dstrict Court judge Michael Baylson has ruled that race played a role in the Lower Merion School District's decision to reassign students to Harriton High School.
In his decision, Baylson wrote, there were too many e-mails and conversations that mentioned race and redistricting to allow any other conclusion.
