Civil rights groups are planning a rally in support of Michael Vick on Thursday evening, just before Vick (above) makes his preseason debut with the Philadelphia Eagles.
NAACP Philadelphia chapter president Jerry Mondesire says his organization, the Black Clergy of Philadelphia, and several other groups will gather outside Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday night to counter the protests of animal rights groups:
"There's been a lot of haranguing and breastbeating on the radio, one store has refused to sell (Vick) jerseys, and another establishment claims it's not going to show the games. So it's time for the other side to be vocal."
