Cheyney and Lincoln universities are getting their college football seasons underway on Saturday at Northeast High School, as they battle in the Wade Wilson Classic.
Cheyney is coming off an 0-11 season, but junior defensive back Demel Chambers says they are ready for better things in 2009:
"The team is gelling right now -- everybody is coming together. We have an understanding of what's going on, we've been working hard all summer."
Lincoln won just once last season in their first year since reviving their football program, and head coach OJ Abanishe (above left) feels his teams made a lot of progress:
