As the City of Philadelphia struggles to make ends meet while waiting for the state legislature to help it along, a state agency has sent the city back to square one on an interim budget. Meanwhile, moves afoot in the Pennsylvania state legislature may further delay Philadelphia's efforts to get its budget back on track.
KYW's Tony Romeo reports from Harrisburg that amendments that would significantly alter legislation Philadelphia is seeking to balance its budget are taking shape in the state Senate.
The city wants legislation that would allow it to raise its sales tax and make changes to its pension system. Mayor Nutter has asked for quick action on the bill, and for no changes to be made.
