New Jersey's shore communities were bracing for this bad weather all week and it looks like all the preparation was not in vain. The water is rising.
Sergeant Patrick Gorman of the New Jersey State police:
"There is limited access getting onto and off the barrier islands and that's really contingent on the tide as it stands right now some of the areas are not accessible."
Access to and from Ocean City, Sea Isle City, the Wildwoods and Cape May are blocked for the most part because of high water although officials do have emergency vehicles that can be used to push through in case of emergency and there are reports of motorists having to be rescued from their cars because of high water.
