As the Philadelphia Eagles continue to polish the team's image after hiring convicted dog abuser Michael Vick, they have unveiled their latest outreach program. It's called "Tawk" -- Treating Animals with Kindness.
The aim of the project is to reduce animal abuse, encourage owners to get their pets spayed and neutered, and to end dogfighting through public education and awareness.
The team handed out three grants of $50,000 each to animal organizations to help them reach those goals. One of the recipients is the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society ("Paws"). Dana Spain is president:
