Phila. Officers Describe Scene of Mayhem in Recent ''Flash Mob'' Incidents
The large and complicated trial for two groups of teens accused of taking part in two recent "flash mob" incidents in center city was continuing on Monday at Philadelphia Family Court.
A security officer for Macy's department store at 13th and Market Streets has testified that he was right in the middle of it as up to 150 young people poured into the store on February 16th -- brawling, throwing shoes and other merchandise, destroying a mannequin. Some of the mayhem was caught on tape.
As the gangs of teens fled the store, police arrived. Officers testified that the teens ran "through" and "over" people in the street -- yelling, screaming, cursing, brawling, even throwing snow and iceballs at the officers.
