Montco Woman Charged as Jihadist
Montco Woman Charged as Jihadist
by KYW's Pat Loeb
A Montgomery County woman is charged with plotting to help terrorists and to commit terrorist acts.
Federal authorities have charged Colleen LaRose (above) with conspiring to provide material support to terrorists and to kill a Swedish resident.
The indictment, unsealed Tuesday, doesn't name the target, though a source says the case is related to a plot against artist Lars Vilks, who has angered Muslims around the world for his cartoon of the prophet Muhammad.
LaRose, 46, of Pennsburg, called herself "Fatima LaRose" and also "Jihad Jane" and had a vigorous online presence where she railed against Jews and US-Middle East policy.
