Phila. Clerk of Quarter Sessions to Resign Amid Criticisms

Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter on Monday announced the resignation of a the city's "clerk of quarter sessions," an elected post held for nearly two decades by 73-year old Vivian Miller.
Her departure comes after state court officials began relieving Miller of her duties.
State Supreme Court chief justice Ron Castille in January announced that he was stripping Philadelphia's clerk of quarter sessions office of its duties. That came after published reports said the office failed to go after hundreds of millions of dollars in bail money and fines.
