Philadelphia will elect a new district attorney next month to replace DA Lynne Abraham, who has been in office for nearly 20 years.
And, as expected, both candidates are talking tough on gun crimes.
Republican candidate Michael Untermeyer says he'll enforce a zero-tolerance policy on illegal, unlicensed handguns:
"Which simply means that in any gun case whatsoever, there'll be no plea negotiations. A plea negotiation is a compromise settlement in a case. And my position is, in gun cases there should be no compromises and no settlement."
Democratic candidate Seth Williams also plans to attack gun crimes:
