Relations between the Pennsylvania state House and Senate appeared ice cold on Monday, the 97th day of the state’s budget impasse.
And now Senate Republicans say they’re moving ahead with their own budget strategy.
Senate GOP leaders on Monday notified House leaders they would not take part in a scheduled meeting of a House-Senate budget conference committee. Instead, Senate majority leader Dominic Pileggi (R-Chester and Delaware counties, seated in center of photo) announced that his chamber would now move ahead with budget legislation on its own track:
