KYW Newsradio has obtained a copy of the city controller's long-awaited audit of the much-reviled Philadelphia Parking Authority. Among the findings -- shoddy bookkeeping, top-heavy management, and free airport parking for a few.
Governor Rendell requested this audit of the parking authority in late 2007 to see if the state-run agency is bloated with too many middle managers and overpaid executives.
The audit by City Controller Alan Butkovitz is still in draft form and not likely to be released until next week. But a copy obtained by KYW Newsradio seems to bear out some of the governor's concerns.
