One of the 44 people nabbed in the federal probe of money laundering in New York and northern New Jersey (related story) has a South Jersey connection. He’s a recently elected state assemblyman from Burlington County.
Daniel Van Pelt, 44 (above), has been an up-and-comer in New Jersey Republican circles. The former mayor of Ocean Township (Ocean County), NJ, Van Pelt was elected to his first term in the state Assembly a year and a half ago.
