Mayor Nutter says he believes Philadelphia's lawmakers in Harrisburg are indeed pushing for two matters he needs to balance the city budget. This, despite complaints from a state senate leader that the issues are being handled poorly.
What the mayor needs is Harrisburg's okay for changes in the city pension plan a penny-on-the-dollar hike in the city sales tax. But Senate majority leader Dominic Pileggi said the Philadelphia delegation needs to make these proposals a priority, and that currently they are "very much behind schedule."
