White House officials shared sweet potato pie with local politicians on Thursday in the Parkside section of Philadelphia, on the first stop of what Washington calls a "national conversation" about urban needs and concerns.
This conversation centered on bringing supermarkets to low-income neighborhoods.
US agriculture secretary Tom Vilsack (center of photo) walked into the Shoprite, at 52nd Street and Parkside Avenue, and remarked that while a well run produce department will have products from all over the world, fruits and vegetables from your own backyard provides a connection:
