With his tenuous budget in the balance, Mayor Nutter on Monday convened a closed-door meeting with state lawmakers from Philadelphia. The legislators emerged proclaiming they're ready to expedite Harrisburg approval on two key matters that Nutter needs.
KYW's Mike Dunn reports that Mayor Nutter met for more than 90 minutes with the Philadelphia area lawmakers in the state house and Senate. To balance his budget, Nutter needs them to fully get behind changes in the city workers' pension fund, and a penny-on-the-dollar boost in the city sales tax.
