Phila. Students Show the ''Flash'' Without the ''Mob'' in Rittenhouse Square
by KYW's Lynne Adkins
About 60 Philadelphia high school students held a quick, peaceful "flash mob" event in Rittenhouse Square on Tuesday afternoon.
(Chanting:) "Leaders! We are... leaders!"
Five rows of students wearing black-and-red tee shirts emblazoned with the words "This is not a flash mob" chanted and shouted their objective: that students can gather in peace and that not all young people are out to follow and destroy.
Thirteen-year-old Shania Morris (with bullhorn at right) says many want to lead and create:
"We want to show that youth can be disciplined not only by adults but by one another, that the stereotypes of young people are not true. All are capable of being leaders."
