Memorial Dedicated in Kensington to Phila. Firefighter Killed in 1950

Philadelphia firefighters, family members, and police officers gathered Wednesday at a firehouse in Kensington to honor a fireman lost in the line of duty sixty years ago.
Ladderman John Crupp was acting lieutenant on June 13th, 1950, the day he died. Ladder 10 -- then located at 2067 East Clearfield Street -- was dispatched to a Food Fair warehouse fire.
While on the roof, Crupp fell through a skylight and later died of his injuries at Northeastern Hospital.
