Diehard Flyers Fans Rally at Comcast Center as Flyers Head to Playoffs
by KYW's Kim Glovas
The Flyers were hoping for thousands of fans to attend a noontime rally on Tuesday outside the Comcast Center, at 17th and JFK Boulevard. But the rain forced events inside, reducing the number considerably.
The plan was a street hockey game, a slapshot contest, and other outside fun. But the rain pushed the event indoors, where T-shirts and noisemakers were handed out.
Bruce Weisenbach has been following the Flyers for decades.
What does he think their chances are of winning the Stanley Cup this year?
"HIghly improbable. We were at the Detroit game on Easter and I thought they were improving their play. It was a very exciting game to watch, the last game of the year. They could ride the hot goaltender, maybe they can do something. They might have a shot."
