They Use Internet Radio Station To Raise JW's Child Sexual Abuse Awareness by Tonya Turpin wvsr1360@yahoo.com (215) 879-0837
To Verdener the movie:
the dilemma of a young
Jehovah's Witness as she is
forced to abandon her family
for the love of a non-believer.
Meet Sam "Van Stone" Downing, a neighbor trying to take Jehovah's Witnesses child sexual abuse awareness, using the Internet, "to the highest level" in our community.
A year ago, Downing created WVSR TV/Radio, www.wvsr1360.com, a multicultural broadcasting program in Philadelphia, PA that allows viewers to watch television and listen to the radio, including AM radio over the Internet.
"As a result of the our story about the JW's child sexual abuse allegations against JW's church leaders called the governing body/elders more than 6,000 abuse victims have come forward. We wanted to shed some new light to people who are in desperate need to stop their silence about the religious abuse," said Stone who believes this type of programming makes the innocent feel that they are not dealing with these crimes alone.
He also believes that 75 percent of religious abuse victims are not skilled in the use of the Internet as a means to report abuse. To him, the abused aren't aware that there is help there.
"I saw the need to let seniors and the youth know they must get more involved in the Internet," explained Stone, who grew up in the West Park Housing Projects near 46th and Market Streets.
The on-line station is run by VSP Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization established since 1980. It provides talk radio and television that addresses issues pertaining to education, politics, kid's stuff and community interest. You can also shop, using your fingers at his world's largest fun home page VSP Internet Shopping Mall. Merchants use space there to sell name brand and generic products such as home appliances, clothing, food, entertainment accessories, and car needs at value saving prices. The stores helps raise dollars for his cause to stop abuse.
"History of religious abuse victims survivors is our first focus," he continued. Folks who donate to have Stone as their scheduled motivational guest speaker on the subject keep him quite busy as his station takes aim at the Jehovah's Witnesses sect alleging hypocrisy in many of its doctrines especially the alleged covering up of church elders who are charged with ongoing child molestation and its secret links to the United Nations.
He has gotten help from outside places where Bruce Keefe, a former JW's elder in Hampton NY boldly takes the lead. Both Keefe and Stone believe that this type of abuse is "just another form of family violence," says Keefe. All families have the right to be safe from it," says Stone.
According to Stone, a former JW's himself of 30 years, "the GB/elders are ordering their faithful to follow its rules, do not report to any news person about how elders have been involved with raping children, regardless of whom the children belong to, do not register to vote, do not speak to members who have been announced as excommunicated by the elders, but at the same time the leaders keep secret files of all credible member pedophiles, joined the UN, and themselves speak to those announced as
disfellowhshipped by the elders."
Stone, who left the JW's because the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society tried to silence him, also said that "the idea of JW's GB/elders covering up child rapes, elders keeping abusers confessions to themselves, members not being allowed to vote and spiritual leaders keeping tight surveillance on any member branded as disfellowshipped comes from the JW's leaders secret political associations with 3 of the most violent ante-world war II dictators who abused religious folks in their time."
According to Stone more details about the JW's-Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin political associations of the past, and present abusive leaders who rule in Philadelphia, PA and Brooklyn, NY can be found on his website. I am tracking down bad elders who abuse people," he said.
Stone, known to many as a controversial community/religious news/hip-hop columnist says, that he is "the first from Philly to break the news about the JW's church GB/local elders alleged child sexual abuse vice and JW's U.N. join up scandal."
According to Stone, he has proof that the JW's are bigots against the Jews and people of color races, since 1933. The JW's supported Hitler's dream world of a Divine government and gave breed to hatred of the League Of Nations (today's U.N.), the United States government and the government of Great Britain.
Feeling that, "no matter what crisis anyone is trying to deal with," says Stone, "TV, Radio and reading on-line can help them cope."
Also, Stone says that the JW's religious organization "has a lot of falsehoods." According to Downing, more details can be found on his website.
He directs anyone to participate in his radio club which has a diverse array of deejays who play all kinds of music. Diane White, from Harrisburg, PA is the site engineer who connects native Philadelphians with native Harrisburg folks arranging everything from Rock-n-Roll and Hip-Hop to Gospel and Independent Artist Music, on the set.
Many DJs brings the music from the streets. DJs talks about the up and coming vocalist and rappers and reviews the on-line magazine Van Stone's Digest. And the station's youth hosts, like Latonya Turpin, do their own celebrity interviews and Disney music to keep the young ones bopping to fun beats. Some DJs sits in for the classic jazz music moments and talk youth sports and community affairs issues.
As for its supportive TV viewers, they get to see surprise shows and ads when they click on to buttons that designate access to non-accessible local TV and cable news/sports.
"We get a lot of support from companies who donate - posting jobs, placing ads or announcing family functions because it's their way of saying we like to thank you for doing true stories about the abused and taking on a challenge that our busy schedule just does not allow us to invest more time in. And we do care", says Stone.
According to Stone, the WVSR family is different because they "are willing to share" the process of people having their own Internet world of streaming programming at their office or in their homes. "They can set up their dream show with our help," he said.
His desire is to create ongoing IT workshops that teach kids about the Internet as well as how to report abuse on the net so that they can protect themselves and their love ones.
Anyone interested in helping save abuse victim survivors, checking out the station, shopping or donating to VSP log on to www.wvsr1360.com To reach the station or request Van Stone as a guest speaker or Stone's other family entertainment guest call (610) 931-8810.
