Phila. Broadcast Pioneer Al Alberts Dies at Age 87

A Philadelphia broadcasting pioneer and music industry legend died on Friday. Al Alberts passed away at his home in Arcadia, Florida. He was 87.
"And now here is the host of the showcase and the star of our show -- Al Alberts.”
Al Alberts was founder of the four aces and hosted the Al Alberts Showcase -- a musical variety show featuring area children. It aired on WPVI for 32 years until the early 90s. Steve Sacks was a member of the technical staff for the show. He says Alberts was a true professional:
