As Parking Meters Disappear in Philadelphia, Bike Racks Will Appear

The Philadelphia Parking Authority board has voted to give more parking -- to bicycles.
As parking meters are converted into kiosks (see related story), the old meter poles have been unused, until now. The board of the Parking Authority on Monday approved a $130,000 contract to convert those poles into bike racks.
