The Franklin and Marshall poll by Dr. Terry Madonna will be released Thursday. The significance of the survey is that it stays longer in the field than others and is considered more extensive. That poll and Tuesday’s Philadelphia speech by Obama on race are the two unknowns of this week.
Obama’s campaign insiders say they were happy with the speech and are polling to find out if it was effective. The Clinton campaign has no comment.
Nationally, the Hillary Clinton campaign is pushing hard and having a hard time seeking agreement from Obama’s staff and the Michigan Democrats on a re-vote in that state, which is critical to any chances for Clinton to catch up in delegates. Florida is already a no-go on a re-vote.
Final notes: the Clinton campaign is thrilled with tracking polls that show a wide lead (see related story). At this point, from a standpoint of time, Clinton is spending much more time in Pennsylvania than Obama.
Obama will return in a few days after visits to North Carolina, Indiana, and Oregon.
