Eleven students LaSalle University students are being treated for possible cases of swine flu. A school spokeswoman says the diagnosis is based on the students' symptoms, and the university plans to test to see if the illness is actually the H1N1 strain of influenza.
Officials at West Chester, Villanova, and Penn State univiersities say that several of their students have also been treated for symptoms of the illness.
Local universities are on high alert to avoid a situation like the one at Washington State University, where some 2,000 students came down with possible swine flu.
Penn, Temple, and St. Joe's say they've dodged that bullet so far.
