West Phila. Students Build Hybrid that Can Compete

It was a pep rally of sorts at City Hall Wednesday for a group of West Philadelphia high schoolers entered in a most unusual competition: a global contest to build a hybrid car that gets over 100 miles per gallon.
Mayor Nutter led the cheering for the team from West Philadelphia High School. They're heading to Michigan for the 'Knockout" stage of the Progressive Automotive X Prize competition, to build a car that's good for the environment but also safe and affordable.
