Philadelphia Orchestra Begins the Passing of the Baton
The Philadelphia Orchestra has finalized plans for its future, by naming its incoming Music Director.
It's a seven year deal for Yannick Nézet-Séguin with two years transition starting now as Music Director Designate, and Charles Dutoit continuing as Chief Conductor. Orchestra president Allison Vulgamore says Nézet-Séguin essentially auditioned for the job, baton in hand:
