Phila. Afro-American Firefighters Group Settles Lawsuit

There's a partial settlement in a federal discrimination lawsuit filed by a group of African American firefighters in Philadelphia against the city and the firefighters union.
Club Valiant, representing black Philadelphia firefighters, went to federal court last fall, alleging that the firefighters' union openly discriminates against its black members. The portion of the suit filed against the Nutter Administration has now been settled:
"The city has agreed to provide additional diversity training to employees of the Philadelphia Fire Department. The plaintiffs are able to contribute to the content and topics of the diversity training."
