Guilty Plea in Death of Phila. Officer as Unrelated Trial for Pair Accused in Another Police Murder Begins
As the murder trial begins for two men accused of killing a Philadelphia police officer, the defendant in another police killing has pleaded guilty.
In one case, 17-year-old Andre Butler (right) has pleaded guilty to a charge of third-degree murder in the stolen-car crash that killed officer Isabel Nazario.
By agreeing to a guilty plea, Butler will face 10-20 years in prison instead of the maximum 20-40 years that he would have faced if convicted at trial.
