Philadelphia's Gun Violence Task Force has found another loophole it wants to close: people who falsify application forms in an attempt to obtain a license to carry a firearm.
The task force was originally set up in late 2006, when the murder count in Philadelphia spiked above 400. In large part, it was an attempt to go after "straw" purchasers -- people who buy guns for felons who cannot legally do so themselves.
Now, Philadelphia district attorney Lynne Abraham says the next step is to crack down on those who are lying on the application that would allow them to carry a firearm:
