Pennsylvania lawmakers are grappling with the question of whether to keep a decades-old mandate that legal notices be published in paid, general-circulation newspapers.
Pennsylvania lawmakers are considering bills that would allow notices about public meetings, contract bids and other matters to be published in free community papers and “shoppers,” and/or government websites, instead of newspapers. Doug Hill of the County Commissioners Association says the media marketplace is changing:
