Police are searching for a bicyclist who beat and robbed an off-duty Philadelphia homicide detective who was out for a jog on the Ben Franklin Bridge on Tuesday morning.
Authorities said they were hunting for a Hispanic male in connection with the assault and robbery of detective Betty Weighnecht while she was jogging on bridge. She was not seriously hurt and did not require hospitalization.
The off-duty detective had just reached the Camden, NJ side of the bridge when the suspect, who was on a bike, approached her, ripped off her necklace, and threw her cell phone into the river.
