Changes are in the works for the street musicians playing in SEPTA concourses -- and for the commuters who love (or hate) to hear them.
Starting on Saturday, musicians playing in Septa concourses will no longer be allowed to use amplification. Septa officials say it's too loud and interferes with important announcements.
In addtion, according to Scott Heinle, Septa's assistant general manager for customer service, starting August 3rd musicians must apply for free permits to perform in Market East or Suburban Station.
