Four Philadelphia police officers were among eight Pennsylvania law enforcement officers honored during ceremonies in the state capital in Harrisburg on Monday. All eight died in the line of duty last year.

One by one, the names of eight law enforcement officers who died last year in Pennsylvania were read aloud.
Governor Rendell, who last year used the event to advocate for gun control legislation, this year spoke out in favor of a bill that would give the families of all fallen Pennsylvania police officers 100 percent of their salary, something right now that only families of officers in townships and boroughs can qualify for:
