A 5K run planned for early June will benefit the families of fallen police, fire, and correctional officers.
The idea for the first annual "Badges of Honor 5K Run" came about after the murder of police officer John Pawlowski, but money raised from the run will beneifit all public safety survivor funds.
Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter said, in a sports crazed town, he hoped this race would become a signature event:
