Ground was broken this past week for a new Youth Study Center, at 48th Street and Haverford Avenue in West Philadelphia.
It will replace the old center, on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway at 20th Street, which will be the new location of the Barnes Musuem.
Mayor Nutter (second from left in photo) says the new center will be a waystation for young people:
"This is not a jail. It's not a prison. It's a place where kids who need help get an opportunity to get back on track."
