Philadelphia - Checks and balances, and properly managing fiscal tax dollars - these are the meat and potatoes of having a successful thriving business. Our great City of Philadelphia is a business as well. What would you do if you had City Controller Alan Butkovitz, who is responsible for auditing every city office and agency, and he refused to do so as required by law, even under these strained economic times?
The answer to that is obvious, you remove him from office. We here at www.frontpagenews.us and www.scoopusanewspaper.com have fully endorsed Brett Mandel "the bull dog" of Philadelphia as our next City Controller. When you have the responsibility of Governing the City of Philadelphia as Mayor Michael Nutter does in a fiscal crisis you NEED a man who will account for every penny received and spent. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with Brett and talk with him about the being City Controller.
The one thing that stuck out in my mind from my conversation with Brett was his commitment to accountability and responsibility. Brett said, "Auditing delayed is accountability denied." Brett worked from 1996 - 2004 for then controller of Philadelphia, Jonathan Saidel. When Brett Mandel is our next City Controller he will call all to account.
