AP-Philadelphia Mayor Nutter's first full day in office runs the gamut, from a sudden funeral to a festive open house.
Michael Nutter begins the day by traveling to Washington for the funeral of James Barnett, husband of the new managing director Camille Barnett. He died in an accident on I-95 last week. Nutter praised Camille Barnett in his inaugural address:
"She is the epitome of public service."
After his return to Philadelphia, Nutter opens the doors of City Hall for an open house:
"I want you to know that your government welcomes you into the building, because all of us have a role to play in turning this city around."
For Nutter it will mean four hours of shaking hands and greeting the Philadelphians who voted him into office.
