Pa. Gaming Bill Awaits Governor's Signature

A spokesman says Governor Rendell will sign a bill authorizing table games at Pennsylvania casinos, and averting the Governor’s plan to lay off 1000 more state employees. The bill is now on its way to Rendell’s desk after the state House vote Wednesday.
“It’s been a long and winding road, ladies and gentlemen, and I think we’ve finally come to the end.”
Those remarks from Berks County democrat Dante Santoni, chairman of the House Gaming Oversight Committee, just before the House sent Governor Rendell a table games bill, ending months of wrangling over the final revenue piece of the state budget that was supposed to be done more than six months ago.
