North Philadelphia's Latino Community Celebrates Three Kings
by KYW's Pat Loeb
Members of Philadelphia's Latino community celebrated the Feast of the Three Kings with dinner and gifts at Concillio, the Council of Spanish-speaking Organizations, in North Philadelphia on Wednesday evening.
More than 300 children received brightly wrapped gifts from the three volunteer kings-for-a-night.
Concilio has been throwing a Three Kings party for many years. Board president Antonio Valdes says it's one of his favorite events:
"I particularly know, as I was growing up as a child, how much it meant to me because this day reminded me of my roots, of where my family had come from. It's not only a religious holiday but something that reminds us of who we are."
