Helping Mrs. Michelle Obama & Punishment For A Vote; There Comes A Time by Van Stone vspfoundation@yahoo.com (215) 747-8746
Mrs. Michelle Obama at the podium addressing young women to make a change in their own relationship with God as voters in the next Presidential election. Women have been denied the right to vote long before religion was working it's way defining what it means to be a part of the world or no part of the world. Mrs. Obama is working hard to drum up new votes in both the Ohio south and the Pennsylvania north.
The U.S. Presidential Election 2008 is a presidential election most likely not to be compared to any other except for the presidential election where there was a black man, the legendary Fredrick Douglas, who ran for VP of the U.S.A. Fredrick Douglas had a wife. And had he become the first black to be vice president of the U.S., making him the most powerful black known in America, his wife would have been the first most powerful black woman known in America. Today, we are proud that Mrs. Michelle Obama, who is a black, will most likely break the woman barrier by becoming the wife of the next president of the United States of America. Most recently, it has been determined that Senator Barack Obama, Mrs. Michelle¢s husband, needs new votes in both states Ohio and PA as a democratic candidate to gain a victory for president. Mrs. Michelle is known for helping in particular young religious women to register and get out and vote.
Mrs. Obama is dealing with punishment for her interest in voting and religion, as the two are separate but can be looked upon as should be -equal. When it comes to anybody¢s religion no one is trying to tell that religion what to do by saying lets help all those that worship to get out and vote regardless if their religion says it is against voting. It is the fair and right thing to do. Therefore, during the months leading up to November, the month of the presidential election, I, a Philly boy, and my fellow Ohio-SCOOP-reader-correspondent will write in this column about helping Michelle Obama . And I will write about making you a better religious person and the dilemma of punishment just because you belong to a religion and want to vote. All who are physically possibly able and living in ether Philly or Ohio regardless if you are Islam, Catholic, Jewish, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc., are invited to reconsider this historic moment in African American History. And ponder that there is a time to deal with vote or die. How do I know?
There comes a time when you just know...... Most of the time most of us have more in common than most of us have been led to believe most of our lives. And now with the passing of time, the explosion of information and too many missed end of the world dates to count, myths that have robbed generations of young people of their full potential are increasingly failing to withstand the questions raised by today's youth who learn more in middle school than generations of their predecessors knew in college a few centuries ago.
Global mobility, exchange student programs, satellite communications and the internet are among the leaders in cause factors that have swept away old stereotypes and their superstition driven fears that served to divide and keep divided people groups apart, ignorant of each other and ready to fear, hate and kill. Suddenly there seems to be a new wind blowing. A wind of change accompanied by coalition building not experienced since the decade of the sixties. Examples burst into my mind like kernels of popcorn early yesterday upon the discovery of a couple of web sites devoted to change that persons across political, racial, social, economic and religious lines cannot ever be expected to publicly object to. The first was a blog site managed by a 32 year old African American woman and the second was a serious expression by a young Muslim man demonstrating against a racist site hosted by a New York City Jewish man.
32 year old Gina McCauley's Michelle Obama Watch blog is all about providing a gathering place for a collation of progressive persons of good will to gather around the person-hood of Mrs. Michelle Obama. And quite a gathering of diverse people have speedily come together to counter mean spirited attacks aimed at Mrs. Obama from right wing hate, fear, ignorance and John McCain supporters.
The next uplifting headline of the day read, VERIZON UNDER FIRE BECAUSE OF 'TECHNIGGA' BLOG: and told the story of Najee Ali and a diverse coalition of activists' planned 11:am July 7 press conference and protest in Los Angeles at the Verizon store at 3829 S. Crenshaw Blvd. The coalition is calling for Lowell C. McAdam, President and CEO of Verizon Wireless, to withdraw a distribution deal he recently signed with 1938 Media, a Loren Feldman company. Bob Cross, a Ohio political analyst, lecturer and SCOOP reader has contributed to this article. Together, Bob and I, Van Stone are hoping that the series written about Michelle Obama and her effort to help young religious women to be free to vote and remain religious ends as an award for the SCOOP newspaper presented by a local Columbus Ohio and Phila. PA political group. I believe there are at least 18,000,000 available faith voters out there from both Ohio and Philly that desire to vote for Senator Obama but will face punishment if just One does so.
