A long-time mystery is solved on the Main Line, as historians at Immaculata University, with the help of a Penn archeologist, have unearthed a mass grave that dates back to the 1830’s.
Legend has it that 57 Irish workers building a railroad got cholera, and were dumped in what’s now called “Duffy’s Cut”, about a mile from Immaculata. That area is now covered with private homes, and given suburban sprawl for decades. It’s remarkable construction left the area untouched, until now.
